About "following the 7th direction"

BRULE' LAUNCHES 501C3 ORGANIZATION THAT AIDS NATIVE AMERICAN YOUTH OF THE NORTHERN PLAINS
Following the 7th Direction is an innovative new public charity organization with the mission to bring hope, pride and inspiration to Native American youth through the performing arts.

The program brings the award-winning Native American group Brulé to reservation schools and community centers where they perform for youth, adults and elders.  The organization also provides follow-up performing arts programs that embrace inspired native youth.

The Reservation Tour is designed to capture the attention of the youth so they can positively envision their future, set goals, realize opportunities not obstacles, aspire to be the person they are meant to be, break the cycle and set a new course of success focusing on the future
.

MISSION
Provide a pathway for hope, pride and inspiration for American Indian youth of the northern plains, off and on the reservation.

WHY THERE IS A NEED!
The Northern plains are the home of the poorest county in America, Pine Ridge Indian Reservation Indian reservations, with unemployment rates 3 times the national average and poverty levels 5 times the national average.

South Dakota Indian reservations have the highest teen suicide rates per capita in the country. These statistics are a lasting result of America’s growing pains and are passed on generationally causing a lack of pride within Tribal youth and a breakdown in relations with surrounding non-Native communities.

HOW YOU CAN HELP
The Native American teen suicide epidemic continues to rise across the Reservations of the northern plains.

The support for this cause varies as many think all Tribal members benefit from successful tribal gaming per capita payments, while less than 7% actually receive any payment.

Join us in the effort to save the lives of at-risk Native American Teens.  Through this innovative approach and your financial support we can begin to restore the Native American spirit, pride, and a sense of self-worth within the largest group of at-risk suicide youth in America (see FT7D opportunity fund).

BRULE HUMANITARIAN OUTREACH
For 20 years Brulé has represented the Native American culture in a positive light by spreading the message of hope, peace and reconciliation of the cultures through music.

Their music and message have been heard in the far corners of the world.  But there remains one frontier, the most difficult of all, the impoverished Indian Reservations of America.

Following the 7th direction will provide a pathway for hope and pride through inspiring music performances and follow-up with performing arts programs that embrace inspired native youth.

ABOUT DONATIONS

FT7D DEVELOPMENT FUND
FT7D will fulfill our mission of providing hope and pride for Native youth through music by reaching out to impoverished tribal Reservation communities.

To accomplish this, we have created the FT7D Development Fund - a new 501c3 fund that will be used to launch our operation and programs.

By contributing to the FT7D Development Fund, you’ll help FT7D become one of the leaders in the plight against Native American teen suicide prevention by bringing various performing arts, mentoring and motivational programs and individuals to the Reservations.

Your tax-deductible contribution to the FT7D Development Fund will support (3) pillars critical to FT7D’s launch, growth and effectiveness.

1) FUNDRAISING AND PLEDGE DRIVE PROGRAMS
The Development Fund will help produce long term fundraising and pledge programs including: regular TV broadcast on PBS, seasonal concerts for reconciliation of the cultures, annual benefit concerts.  Contributions will also be used to provide staff, office, promotions and other resources needed to grow.

2) COMMUNICATIONS
The Development Fund will help build FT7D’s communications resources on the web and in social media.

3) EMERGING AND EXISTING PROGRAMS
The Development Fund will also help support the growth of non-existing programs such as: Reach the Reservation music tours, performing arts programs for Native youth, and community relation building events that include concerts in border community towns.  Existing programs include: Concerts for Reconciliation of the Cultures in the Black Hills and other national concert venues.
